Rebecca is a painter, writer and art therapist. Her work as a trauma therapist informs her paintings as they explore the subconscious mind and its desires. With a degree in Fine art and Psychology from The New School, and a Masters in Art Therapy and Creativity development from Pratt Institute, Rebecca combines her curiosity about the human psyche and the magic of creativity in her art works.
Growing up in rural Pennsylvania in a household of strong minded, creative women, Rebecca evokes elemental rituals and pagan magic from childhood as she creates. Inspired by Carl Jung, Picasso, and Pollock Rebecca creates mixed medium abstract paintings. Her painting is emotion based and bridges concepts of science, psyche and mystical realms. Her aim is to invite the world to pay reverence to the power of the subconscious and inspire others to claim their own power through creative process.
She creates in a solitary practice as she travels the world, or from her mountain top cabin in The Catskills. Most recent works were created in The Catskills, and Barcelona Spain. Rebecca in an artist in Residence 2022 at The Skopelos Art Foundation in Skopelos Greece.
Mission
My mission is to provide a spark of inspiration. A touch of wonder to your day. I will offer ways to work with your own creativity to heighten and encourage self discovery. I believe that in sharing of self we invite reflection of others.
Vision
I see the world as a bridge between creativity, magic and science. I hold space for all disciplines and believe that when we open ourselves to the possibility of magic and art we are forever changed.
